Hair removal machine for women
Often we get asked about hair removal machines for women but this could refer to many different machines. Really there are three main hair removal methods that use machines. These are epilators, IPL and Laser hair removal.
An Epilator is a small machine generally used at home on yourself, it works by essentially plucking out each hair that the machine runs over. This is not a permanent method and works similar to waxing the hair in that the hair is removed for an average of three weeks. Unfortunately Epilating is described as very painful and is prone to creating ingrown hairs.
The next one is IPL. IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. The machine sends out a broad spectrum of light which is applied to the skin. It strikes the hair shaft and travels down to the root, it heats it up and the root is destroyed. IPL can only be used on light and medium skin and dark hair because if your skin is too dark the light will actually heat up and burn the skin as opposed to the hair.
Laser hair removal is by far the most effective method of the three. With Laser hair removal, the laser sends out one specific wavelength which is set depending on the skin and your hair colour. Laser hair removal is a little painful but not major, though it definitely depends on what body part you are having lasered. It is usually described as feeling like having an elastic band pinged on your skin. This does vary from person to person. The biggest plus is that it is permanent hair removal as it actually destroys the hair follicle itself and it causes no damage to the skin. Laser hair removal can be used on all skin types, dark to light, sensitive or not.
