Why Laser Tattoo Removal?

Laser Tattoo Removal is the fastest and most effective method of removing tattoos out there with the benefits of it being non-surgical and with no lasting side effects.

The PicoSure laser is the latest innovation in laser technology. It is faster, being able to remove your tattoo in as little as four to eight treatments, (compared to the twenty it used to take), there is less recovery time required between treatments and the laser is effective on all colours of ink, including green and blue.

The PicoSure laser sends out ultra-short pulses of light into your skin which actually cause the ink to break up into tiny particles, your body then removes these ink particles from your body. Due to the laser not using heat in this process the surrounding skin is left completely untouched and there is a very short recovery time required between treatments.

The PicoSure laser is suitable for all skin types I-IV this includes Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin. If you have a history of poor wound healing or scaring then do go over this with your practitioner in your initial consultation.

Can the Laser be used on any part of my body?

The PicoSure laser is suitable for all tattoos around your body not including cosmetic tattoos such as eyebrows or eyeliner. The laser cannot be used in such close proximity to your eyes due to the strength of the laser.

How much does it hurt?

This really does vary from person to person depending on your individual pain threshold. It is usually described as feeling something like having an elastic band pinged against your skin. Don’t be afraid to talk to your practitioner about it, there are different things that can be done to minimise any discomfort.

Are there any side effects?

There are usually no long term side effects. For a few hours following your treatment you may experience redness, swelling or itchiness but with proper aftercare this will rapidly disappear. If you do have a history of poor healing or easy scaring then you should take this up with your practitioner at your initial consultation as there is a low level risk of scaring.

How long will it take to remove my tattoo?

This varies from person to person depending on many factors such as the size of the tattoo, the colours of the ink used, the age of the tattoo, the location of the tattoo, skin type and so on. In your initial consultation your practitioner will be able to answer this for you personally.
